Introduction to the R&D Center for New Energy and Low-Carbon (Zero-Carbon R&D Laboratory Building) Project of SolarEast

Jul. 28, 2025

The Zero-Carbon Laboratory Building Project of SolarEast has a total investment of 120 million yuan, covering an area of 12 mu (about 8,000 square meters) with a total construction area of 32,000 square meters.

The 1st and 2nd floors of the project include 30 first-class heat pump laboratories in the industry, such as a 1200kW ultra-low ambient temperature (-60℃) comprehensive performance laboratory, household and commercial long-term operation reliability laboratories, extreme climate and thermal comfort laboratories, and precision semi-anechoic (noise) laboratories.

The 3rd and 4th floors are built as electronic controller production workshops. The project adopts the "zero-carbon building" as the design and construction standard, integrating a 1.17MWp external wall BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) and roof distributed photovoltaic power generation system, as well as an 800kW/1720kWh lithium battery energy storage system.

The annual cooling and heating of the building are provided by a coupled system consisting of one high-efficiency magnetic levitation ground-source heat pump unit, eight 60HP high-efficiency air-source heat pumps, and 1000m³ layered heat and cold storage steel tanks. After completion, it will form an application scenario of the "source-grid-load-storage" integrated low-carbon energy solution with the integration of "power grid, heat grid, and cold grid", effectively reducing the enterprise's energy use costs.

The project started construction in January 2024. At present, all laboratories have been put into use. The electronic controller workshop, zero-carbon building, and smart control center of the low-carbon park will be fully operational in August, setting a benchmark for the construction of low-carbon and zero-carbon parks in our city and even the whole country.
